Allied Troops Land in France

Allied troops have successfully landed in Normandy. The allied forces have established strongholds on all beaches and the invasion is a success. Reinforcements are sent to the occupied beaches.

Massive Military Operation

On the 6th of June, a total of 4.000 ships and 11.000 planes supported the invasion of Normandy. The night before, American paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division jumped out over Normandy to secure key positions. In the early morning, the great invasion fleet reached the coast of Normandy and launched landing vessels with soldiers, onto five beaches.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower is the commanding officer of the operation. English, French, Canadian and other European troops fight together with American troops in what we surely will call the biggest military operation ever.

Problems for Nazi Germany

No official declaration has been given yet. Before the invasion started, every man was given a stirring order of the day from General Eisenhower. The order stated “You are about to embark upon a great crusade. The eyes of the world is upon you. The hopes and prayers of all liberty loving people everywhere are with you…” [1] The number of casualties from the invasion is still unknown, but we must assume that several thousand soldiers have died in the invasion. We know that American troops have fought especially hard on the “Omaha beach”.

By entering the European mainland, the second front is open, which probably will cause problems for Nazi Germany. It is now possible that the war in Europe can be over during this year. The Russians are advancing from the east. The Germans now have to fight against two armies.

More information soon

We do not know all the facts about this entire situation, but you will get more of the official information in the coming days.

General Eisenhower's Order to The Troops

"You are about to embark upon a great crusade. The eyes of the world is upon you. The hopes and prayers of all liberty loving people everywhere are with you.

With our brave allies and brothers in arms on other fronts you are going to bring about the destruction of Germany war machine and the elimination of Nazi tyranny.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemies are well equipped and battle hardened, and will fight savagely. The tide has turned. The free men of the world are marching together to victory. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and, skill in battle. We shall expect nothing less than full victory.

Good luck, and let us all beseech the blessing of the almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking."
