Today, exactly one year has gone by since the tragedy which directed the world’s attention, consideration and compassion towards the USA. Today there is the 22th of November 1964, and the assassination of the highly beloved President John F. Kennedy one year ago, has left deep traces in every single American. It has been a special day hear in Dallas, but also in the rest of the USA as we have remembered the death of John F. Kennedy. To honor the late President, let us once again look at what happened this horrific day at the 22th of November 1963?

President John F. Kennedy drove in a Lincoln convertible through Dallas in Texas with his wife Jacqueline, and the governor, John Connally, and his wife. They were heading to a hospital where the President was giving a speech to a group of people. They had drive in a ten-mile motorcade through Dallas. The Kennedy’s and the Connally’s sat, all four of them, together in the open car, waving to the big and enthusiastic crowd standing on the streets. At almost exactly 12:30 p.m. they passed The Texas School Book Depository, and almost at the same second three shots were fired from the school book depository. Few perceived the situation as well as the president whohad been hit by two bullets, one in the head and one in the neck.
The man behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy was a Marine soldier from New Orleans in Louisiana. His name was Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald had walked up to the sixth floor of The Texas School Book Depository-building, which also was his workplace. From there he stood with his Italian produced rifle, aiming to kill the president of the USA so he could be remembered by the history books. And so he did. Both of the hits were deadly and Kennedy was immediately taken to “Parkland Memorial Hospital”. Unfortunately, this was the end for John. F. Kennedy.
Oswald was seen when he tried to leave The Texas School Book Depository. The 24-year-old Marine soldier was met by a police officer named J.D. Tippit, a short distance from the warehouse.
Officer J. D. Tippit was shot and killed by Oswald. The man who killed the President of the USA was again on the loose. Nevertheless, the second time he did not manage to get away. The police, close to “The Texas Theater”, had also seen Oswald. He was arrested and was now in the hands of the police, 80 minutes after killing the President. The 24th of November, only two days after the assassination Oswald was shot and killed by Jack Ruby, a club owner with mob affiliations, while he was transported to the county jail.
The 22th of November 1963 will always be a day the world will associate with something sad. However, they will also remind themselves how lucky they were who got the chance to get known to John F. Kennedy. Even if he only was the president for two years (1961-63), he managed to get a place in every single American hearts and in the history books. He was a hardworking man with a strong passion to make a remarkable difference in the world. Today, all Americans have looked back to the death of John F. Kennedy, and hopefully they will keep remembering him for a long time.
